Yesterday, without explanation, the script that makes MadeByMark possible quit working. The system declined to publish any new entries, and the software allowing me to change settings or tinker with options refused to run.
Movable Type, the amazing software that serves as the backbone of the site, normally runs without a hitch. Once I verified that the software was not the root of my issues, I faced what I thought would be an unpleasant task: contacting the support team at WazooWeb.com.
My dread, of course, was influenced by my experiences over at WebHostXL, where getting a reply to a trouble ticket was about as likely as getting a Republican to issue a meaningful apology.
This turns out to be misplaced anxiety. Within two hours of sending in my request for help, the staff at WazooWeb.com had fixed the problem. In fact, they bowled me over by sending an email that:
1) acknowledged the problem
2) identified and defined it (problems with their SQL server)
3) took ownership of it
4) detailed how they had corrected it
5) and apologized for my troubles.
That’s service. If you’re looking for a responsive webhost that won’t break the bank, give WazooWeb.com a try.
