Pictures from the Heart

Pictures from the Heart

My good friend Sandra Thomson’s latest book — a Tarot dictionary — is now available. The product of exhaustive research, Pictures from the Heart organizes into alphabetical order detailed notes on the meanings of and symbols within Tarot cards.

This is the book I wanted back when I started studying Tarot more than seven years ago. What kind of bird is that in the background of the Star? Why is the word DIN concealed within the art on the Magician trump? Why is there a lobster on the card called The Moon? She answers these questions — and hundreds more — in simple, concise language. (And does so without resorting to vague, dry, academic jargon.)

(Full disclosure: I’m referenced in the book. See corrected decks and snippage.)

This, plus Joan Bunning’s great Learning the Tarot, and any beginner is good to go.
