Since moving all my web sites to WazooWeb.com, I’ve nothing to do any longer with WebHostXL.
When pouring over webstats for my site, however, I noted that this entry about WebHostXL’s terrible customer service and unreliable hosting has become one of the most popular on MadeByMark. In the comments section, a long and detailed saga unfolds, including everything from commiseration to outright consumer activism.
A tiny community of WebHostXL customers has formed, using MadeByMark to share information and stay in touch. Pooling resources, they’ve gone so far as to locate and make personal visits to WebHostXL’s parent company. Some, like me, have gotten refunds. Others are still waiting to find out whether their websites are offline … or lost forever.
If nothing else, this development is a perfect example of how weblogs provide a forum unlike anything else on the web. I’m proud that original entry — dashed off in a hurry one night, amid much frustration — has brought a small but powerful group of people together.
Hi,
Do you know anyone that had registered a domain name with WebHostXL and managed to transfer it somewhere else?
Robert
My site was hacked and I’ve spent days trying to contact WebhostXl. I get no response whatsoever and meanwhile I cannot get to the cpanel, mail, ftp or anything but billing (go figure.)
Can anyone furnish any specific info as to WebHostXL – i.e., phone #’s, principals, addresses, etc. – they have been totally non-responsive to phone calls (to registry info #’s) and support desk tickets
Apparently not registered as a WA corp, etc.
