If you were living in your own best possible world, how would you life be different?
This is one of several intriguing questions Julia Cameron helps you explore in The Sound of Paper, the latest in her series of books on personal creativity. The exercise involves numbering a sheet of paper from one to ten, then completing the phrase “If I were living in the best of all possible worlds…” ten times.
Some answers won’t surprise you (“If I were living in the best of all possible worlds, I would be living in Atlanta’s Midtown community”). Others will (“If I were living in the best of all possible worlds, I would be doing a better job of prioritizing my work and getting the most important things done first”).
The trick, Julia points out, is to define your best possible world … then figure out the small daily steps that will take you closer and closer to your goals.
