So the other day, I mentioned ordering a custom frame from FramesByMail.com.
They produced the frame and shipped it — FedEx! — just 48 hours after I placed my initial order. Today, the FedEx Home Delivery van pulled up to our kitchen door. Just like that, my custom frame was here.
Clyde opened the box, slipped out the frame, inserted my artwork, and sealed the whole thing up like a pro. It looks great; I doubt the local framing shop would have done better work.
To be perfectly fair: the local framing shop would have ordered a custom-cut sheet of glass (and whacked me with a $45.00 transport fee over and above the charge for producing the glass itself) instead of plexiglass.
That said, had I gone with the local frame and specialty glass, I would have spent $650.00. At $127.00, my point-and-click option (with plexiglass) strikes me as a much better value.
Oh — I’ve also received my poster-size prints from Sam’s Photo Club. The 11 x 14 is crisp and clear … and even the 24 x 36 is razor sharp. The photos arrived in sturdy cardboard tubes via priority mail. Total time elapsed, from point-and-click ordering to having the finished products in my hot little hands? Just three days — and that’s with shipment from California!
