MidtownMeals

MidtownMeals.jpgWe eat out. A lot. And I blog. A lot. So, it’s pretty natural that I’d want to create a blog full of restaurant reviews, right?

Problem is: there are only so many hours in a day, and I’m not likely to snag a paid gig as an Atlanta-based food blogger. So, with an eye toward feeding my jones to write about food here in Midtown Atlanta … and with an eye toward being able to post reviews without spending six hours and fifteen minutes a day writing them … I’ve come up with MidtownMeals.

Several things make MidtownMeals worth a look, especially if you a) live in or near Midtown Atlanta and b) you like to eat out:

– It’s focused. Posts are about Midtown Atlanta restaurants, period.

– It’s practical. When you eat out several times a day, you can’t afford to spend fifty bucks a head on, say, curried cuttlefish appetizers at the Oceanaire. So MidtownMeals tends to review places where you can eat for $10 to $20 bucks a head — or less.

– It’s scaled for short attention spans. All MidtownMeals reviews are less than 140 characters long — the exact size of a Twitter.com “tweet.” In addition to reading the blog and subscribing to the RSS feed, you can follow MidtownMeals via Twitter, making it possible to read each post directly on your phone or SMS service.

– It’s comment-able. Disagree with me? Post a comment on the MidtownMeals blog and let me have it.

– It’s quick and easy. In addition to pithy comments and life-changing insights (heh heh), each restaurant reviewed gets a letter grade. (Note to self: eat at fewer D and F locations!)

MidtownMeals will soon be available at MidtownMeals.com, but, for now, you can preview it and bookmark it through this handy MadeByMark link. Enjoy!
