Georgia Guidestones

Georgia Guidestones

Guidestones In June of 1979, a man calling himself "R. C. Christian" appeared in a small Georgia town, commissioned the building of a bizarre granite monument built to exacting specifications. In addition to its precise seasonal alignments with the sun, the monument features post-Apocalyptic instructions in multiple languages for the survivors of a world-wide holocaust: guidelines for a new world order.

The Guidestones, as they're now called, were recently featured in Wired Magazine. Have any MadeByMark.com readers seem them in person?

I live just 90 miles from "America's Stonehenge," and didn't even know it. (I've even spent weekends around Lake Hartwell — just fifteen minutes or so away — and could have easily made the drive.) I feel a road trip coming on …

  • So let me get this straight, in America or the ‘states’ they have been trying to get rid of stone tablets resembling the ‘law’ of the 10 commandments in the bible within the courthouses, now we have seen the other side of the rainbow with these 10 laws still in place in easy to understand languages, and utmost intriguing as to whom they actually represent, not a president, not a pope, not a disciple, but a man.

  • Honestly? I’m not sure I understand the point you were trying to express.

The only thing the 10 Commandments have in common with the Guidestones is this: the same fear and ignorance that motivates some people to think the 10 Commandments belong in state or Federal courts is the same fear and ignorance that motivates some people to think the Guidestones should be removed or defaced.
