I haven’t yet written about Radial, an amazing breakfast spot over in Candler Park. And that’s an oversight on my part, because they’re plating some of Atlanta’s very best breakfast fare over there.
Pictured above: Granny Radial’s Praline French Toast. While it sounds like an exaggeration, I have to admit this is the best French toast I’ve ever been treated to. The chef dips the challah bread in vanilla batter, ladles a concoction of pecans, brown sugar, and pure maple syrup over the top, and finishes it with a dusting of powdered sugar. It’s like somebody’s grandma whipped up a batch of pralines that didn’t “set,” and so she made the most of the situation by pouring them over the softest, sweetest toast you’ve ever popped in your mouth.
Pair that with the best cup of coffee in Atlanta, and you have an unforgettable morning meal worth crossing town for. If you haven’t been to Radial, it’s time.
