[TAO] Where the Ocean Says to Go

[TAO] Where the Ocean Says to Go

Boat and sea

“The highest goodness resembles water…
It stays in places that people dislike.”
— Tao te Ching, Chapter 8

Today’s lesson is short and sweet: when we’re attuned to goodness:

– to being in the right place at the right time

– to being guided by the heart

– to speaking with integrity

– to making the best possible decisions

– to aligning our actions with the moment

our lives flow, creating positive change with no apparent effort.

These benefits will persist even when others dislike or oppose us. We don’t have to get caught up in the conflict. We can live above reproach.

I think Daniel Nahmod says it well in “Where the Ocean Says To Go:”

If I stop steering my boat, does it sink? Oh, no.
Current carries it along, just so.
If I stop steering my life, I’m gonna be alright.
I’ll just go where the ocean says to go.

Today, I will be a channel for right thinking and right action. I will go where the Spirit leads. I will trust that I will be where I am needed most, and that I can do what needs to be done.
