Sage Advice from a Movie Review

Sage Advice from a Movie Review

In this review of Rendition, James Rocchi makes a pronouncement we’d all be wise to keep in mind when dealing with politicians: “Anytime someone tells you that you can’t make an omelet without breaking eggs, immediately demand to see the omelet.”

In other words: when someone claims violent, destructive, or harsh techniques are needed to create something new and wonderful, we’d be wise to ask to see something wonderful they previously created using violent, destructive, or harsh techniques.

Meantime: what does it say about America that movie reviewers are more likely than news reporters to challenge our President’s claims that “America does not torture!”?
