  • 1. HiThis goes on to validate the fundamental principle of Homoeopathy that is ‘Similia Similibus Curentur’ or ‘Let likes be treated with Likes’. Coma is more like a deep sleep state and a sleeping pill is supposed to induce sleep and not wake up one from sleep ( conventional wisdom).

The action of sleeping pill (containing crude synthetic drug) is short lived. May be if they use it in potentised form as we Homoeopaths do, the action would be long lasting? Try.ThanksVPS

  • My husband hs been in a coma since March 16th 2006 and Is still in one at this time. He has improved slightly. I feel like he can understand but can not respond. Does any one know about any one recovering from a lack of oxygen brain damage coma recovering. I have been encouraged at every turn to take his life sustaining assistance away and let him die. I do not feel right about this.

  • Hi, Sabina.

I’m so sorry to hear about your tragedy. I can’t imagine the horror and difficulty you’re facing, and my prayers are with you.

This is a very personal decision … one that your family and your faith can inform, but that only you can make. I’m sorry that I don’t have any information that can make the choice easier for you.

  • Hello, My brother was in a coma for 2 months over 10 years ago. He lost a lot of oxygen to his brain. The doctors said he was not going to make it and to let him go.

He woke up and had to learn almost everything all over again. He could not see either but that came back. He is almost what you would say to be perfect now but a bit forgetful sometimes and his motor skills are not perfect but he is happy.

He is a much nicer person now.How long has he been in one for? and what happened if you don’t mind my asking.love mia

  • I apologize, you already wrote how long.My brother tells me that his dreams while in a coma were torture and he feels that he lived another lifetime of that while in a coma. He feels like it was real. I have no idea if this is what others have felt or not though. He has addison’s disease and he stopped taking his pills which keep him alive because he thought he didn’t need them anymore, then clinically died 4 times and went in to a coma and woke up after 2 months.

  • I am so sorry to say that April 11 my husband died from a infection while still in a coma. He is now with the Lord and out of his struggle, I still wouldn’t have done it any other way, His last words to me about a coma were do everything before you pull the plug. God Bless

  • Hi, my heart and prayers go out to all the people who are experiencing a love one in a coma or if they have passed, God be with you! My daughter’s teacher, her son Ben was in a serious car accident on Sept. 23, 2007. He had a tramatic brain injury that has now left him in a coma. The family is in desperate need of suggestions of stimulation, to help him come out of the coma. I feel the hospital has done all they can do under the cucumstances. The hospital is an excellent care facility but is not a facility that specializes in this area. Ben should be moved to a facility that specializes with coma patients. Do you agree? How do you go about suggesting this without hurt feelings? What else besides our love and support and prayers can we do to help? Any suggestions will help.Gods Blessings to all!

  • Mia, I was absolutely shocked to see your posting! My aunt has Addison’s Disease and did not get her medication for 2-3 days. She has been in a coma for 8 days now. Everyday we notice small changes in her and we truly believe she can hear us but can’t respond. Just yesterday the doctor told us that we should start considering turning off the breathing machine, but we just can not do that! Please tell me more about your brother and his progress while he was in a coma. What city do you live in?

  • Need advice. My sister in law, only 47 is in a coma for the past month and a half as a result of a colon surgery gone wrong. They have given her ambien two doses a day for the past few days. My brother and staff has seen changes in movements following people across room etc. no speech. But now they have stopped it. Is there a time frame that you take ambien, should you stop after a certain time? need some advice. Could she still wake up at some point? Any advice is appreciated.

  • My father has had two strokes and a heart attack. The doctors have no clue as to what ever might happen to him. We have been trying ambien and do not know how long to give it to him. How long before we know if there is going to be any change?

  • My Husband had a heroin overdose which caused him to have a stroke. Now he is in a coma, but he moves one arm and one leg and opens his eyes. Last night the doctor gave him a dose of Ambien and 35 minutes later he was talking to me again. He told everyone to shut the f**k up and to help him. I don’t know what to expect now, but I am hoping this drug works. Does anyone know anything more about Ambien pertaining to coma patients?

  • My mom has been in a coma for 18 years [Dec. 4, 1990]. I was 3 months old when it happened and she was 19. I’m 18 now. She lives at home w/ us and my grandma hires in people and teaches them the nursing skills it takes to take care of her. Her eyes are open. She can make little movements. It just kills me.

  • I have been treated for depression for 15 years. Went through all the SSRIs and SNRIs. Finally got a new doctor and went back to the old-fashioned MAOI antidepressent parnate. This is a miracle drug that has given me energy that I have not had for 10 years. But I cannot sleep for more than 4 hours a night, compared to 14 hours on the old medicines. Ambien is successfully treating this side effect of parnate.
