Editor’s Note: Brock says this is his last post on this subject. I’ll post my response within a day or so. Meanwhile, you can see the original text of Brock’s final post here, or read the following version, which has been edited for clarity.
Brock Sund, guest commentator, writes: I think I finally realized a great truth in the midst of all this.
I do agree with you that people read into scripture differently, and this is my answer to the “Scripture or Scrapture?” idea. I realized that the Holy Spirit is the one that convicts and teaches — not MadebyMark.com or ArguedbyBrock. In all of your years reading the Word, I’m sure that certain Scriptures have meant different things to you at different points [in time] … I think this is exactly what is going on here.
Obviously one of us is wrong here. So I would just beg you, myself, and all those that have kept up with this debate to read the Word for themselves. Mark is not God, Brock is not God, and none of their words should be taken without reading the words that are found in the Bible. GOD IS GOD!
Finally as my LAST entry … I would ask [you, Mark,] (I’m sure you already have an answer to this ready) to find one [place] in the Bible [where Scripture says] Homosexuality is ok. Disprove just once whether [homosexuality] is punishable by death, a sin, or cursed according to the incident with Canaan.
When you show me where it is ok, celebrated like love between a man and woman ([as in the] Song of Soloman) or even tolerated once, then, Mark, I will refute my beliefs of it being a sin.
I pray that the Holy Spirit convicts all of those involved in this (myself, Mark, and all the readers) and that TRUTH will set us all free.
Thanks again for the opportunity, good luck on “your journey” I’m sure something will spark my interest in the future.
