Welcome to the New America

In the New America, the Constitution is merely a tool for engineering sweeping conservative political change. Want to change the Constitution to prevent millions of natural-born citizens from ever enjoying the privilege of marriage? Fine. Want to amend the Constitution to allow one foreign-born Republican actor the privilege of becoming President? That’s fine, too.

In the New America, laws for our protection are swiftly becoming laws for our suppression. In fact, as former Congresswoman Helen Chenoweth-Hage discovered when she was barred from a flight for refusing to be “patted down,” some laws are so secret, citizens aren’t allowed to request to see them or possess copies of them.

In the New America, we are more forgiving than ever. With a simple voice vote, lowered America’s leadership standards by dispelling a rule requiring people indicted for crimes to step down from leadership positions.

In the New America, we don’t blink when the number of votes cast in critical swing states exceeds the number of registered voters.

We abandon the wisdom of the Founding Fathers. We embrace secret law. We lower standards of leadership. We wink at election fraud.
