The drive home takes six hours. Rain falls every mile of the way.

Once home, we light a fire. We pet the animals. Shows have piled up on our Tivo — we watch them all.

Outside, night falls. The air, blue with rain, grows chill. By ten o’clock, we dim the lights and snuggle in bed, happy to be home again.
