I finished reading Leo Babauta’s The Little Guide to UnProcrastination today. As you might expect, it’s simple and wise. Some gems:
– Important Tasks. Is your to-do list as out of control as mine? If so, the concept of important tasks (identifying the three most important things, and doing them first) will be useful to you. I did this today and made great progress toward my most important work.
– Just Choose. Spend a lot of time wondering which project to work on? Leo’s advice — “Just choose something” — puts an end to the agony.*
– Just for Ten Minutes. Putting something off that you dread working on? Often, making progress is just as easy as saying, “Okay, I’ll work on it for just ten minutes.” Give this a try. Ten minutes later, you’ll be surprised what often happens.
– Organizing the My Documents Folder. Do you share my passion for implementing complex organizational schemes for storing information? There’s a better way to live. Following Leo’s advice, I created four folders in My Documents (Inbox, Working, Read, Archive), tossed everything old into Archive, and put everything current in Working. Ah. Better.
– Eliminate Meetings. This is hard to do, given that The Company I work for loves a long, slow, soul-killing meeting. For now, I’m shifting as many meetings as possible to afternoons (my least productive time) and encouraging my contacts to make meetings as short as possible.
The Little Guide to UnProcrastination is well-written, well-organized, and a quick read. Especially if you struggle with procrastination, don’t put off buying and reading this book. (Huk yuk.)
Download a copy from Leo here (with bonus materials) or the Kindle version from Amazon.com.

Full Disclosure: I bought this book with my own money, read it on my own time, and wrote about it because I valued it. The only way I profit from the sale of this book is if you, as a courtesy, elect to buy the Kindle version through this Amazon.com link.
